and she's back...

Image
Hi yall! Im back! and I guess I should start with an update. Let's see where to being..we still live in the house we bought. We've changed some things, no actually scratch that. I meant alot of things. Also, we had our 3rd baby about 7 months ago. Her name is Hailey and she's the cutest thing ever and super demanding! But i love her and she's my little Hailey. She is sure to be the last, the shop has closed and Im ready to just hang out with these babies and focus on them. Also I am now a 5 year teacher. Its been amazing and every year I learn just a little bit more of what I can do. This year has been one of the worst years thought..well I would not say worst, I think it's been challenging. Thats a better word: challenging. Some things you might find different about my blog is that I will be talking about decorating my house. I will say it's not like magazine type photos and Im okay with that. Im working on what helps and what works best for my family. Plus...

House: Summer list

Image
As soon as school was let out I go started on painting all the rooms and getting started on figuring out on what I wanted to do for every room. Mind you we have 5 bedrooms and three baths so I really needed to get on the ball with all the rooms. I have only finished painting the kitchen, Megan's room, and all three bathrooms. I mean it's not too bad but it's still I feel like I still have so much to do. Sometimes I just look at the room and think "how the heck do I want this to look like?". Its a little overwhelming.  All these pictures were taken with my iPod because my iPhone broke. Yes, it was a sad day. So here is the kitchen. I recently painted it yellow. I wanted something happy:) The color of the sun. I am going for a rustic feel through out the whole downstairs rooms, the living room, dining and kitchen. The colors we chose for this side of the house is white, yellow and grey. I already know what I want. The hard part is to find the actual decor to ...

The summer I turned pretty

Image
This series was a roller coaster, in a good way. I felt like I knew this guy. He's the type of guy who pretty much strings you along. He is the type of guy who out of nowhere can be cold at times. It was a really good series and I'll will admit I was a little apprehensive to read the series at first but after the first book I had to read the second. The third book very interesting and kept me at the edge of my seat. I recommend this book to read on the beach, as most of the setting of this book is on the beach. Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible...

Ed Sheeran ATX

Image
About 2 months ago we bought some Ed Sheeran concert tickets. It was kind of tough getting them because Austin is the city of music. They go nuts over anything music. We were able to score some ticket, when I say we I mean Jaime. I had to work that day when tickets were being sold. Fastforward to this week, I was so excited to get away from home and be with my husband for two days. We never get those kind of days so it's important to really savor those moments. Some thing we were looking forward for was some sleep. We have not slept for a year now and we are just so tired. Honestly, I could sleep for a whole day. Jaime and I requested some days off for this tiny trip.  It was so much fun we started off the adventure at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning. We stopped at the Guadalupe river. Stayed there for awhile. We did a little walk that felt like I was walking up a mountain. I made it, I needed some water afterwards but it was worth it. I got to put my foot inside the river....

Our weekend

Image
This past week was an easy week. After testing was over we pretty much had fun days. Lots of movies and playing board games in the classroom.Tomorrow we are back at teaching. I have two  unit lessons that I think are going to last for the next 4 weeks. Which should be fun. Andrew turned the BIG 1 on Saturday. We took him out for breakfast and holy cow can that little guy eat. He loved his breakfast.Afterwards we went to target to pick up a few items for that night. We were going to a wedding that night and we just needed a few things. We went home and just played with Andrew. We didn't have a party this time around. Im sure we will do one next year but we opted out this year.    We took Andrew to the wedding with us, which an hour into it we realized we should have left him with my mom. The wedding was just beautiful. The wedding was one of my high school friends and she made a huge wedding. It was just gorgeous. She wanted a fairytale wedding and it...

Staar Stressing....I mean testing

Image
In Texas we have a standardized test called "STAAR". Today was the mathematic part to the test which is my test(I teach 4th grade math,in case you didn't know) so it was nerve wrecking.I just wanted to give you a little glimpse of my thoughts of today. The assistant principal tells me in the morning "okay, your test are ready, come pick them up." Another teacher comes up to me and informs me one of my students has thrown up due to nerves. I should have been more concerned. We only have 4 hours for the whole entire test. If you ask me it's not enough time for a 4th grader to do a test of 56 questions. One of my students was still working 10 minutes before I had to call time. When the student finally finished. We usually eat at 11:40 and we had to wait till 12:30. When I actually was able to eat. I was so tired from the day that I left early from work and pretty much left half asleep.

Some books I have read so far

Image
In case you were wondering where I find the next book to read, wonder no more. I find my next read on instagram #yabooks. I usually scroll through pictures of what other people are reading then I go on amazon and see if it is a book I would be interested in. I usually am interested in most YA Reads. I think the only ones Im not that excited for are the fantasy ones that have to do with werewolves and other super natural beings. I think I'ver read one series on those type of book and I think it was enough. I usually read syfy, dystiopia, and romantic ya books. I cannot get into the more adult books. I wish I could, it's just not something I like to read. In about two week we got to Corpus Christi where the nearest half off book store is and I'm so looking forward for that. I'm looking forward to see my sister graduate too of course. The slammed series Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother ...
