Our weekend

Image
This past week was an easy week. After testing was over we pretty much had fun days. Lots of movies and playing board games in the classroom.Tomorrow we are back at teaching. I have two  unit lessons that I think are going to last for the next 4 weeks. Which should be fun. Andrew turned the BIG 1 on Saturday. We took him out for breakfast and holy cow can that little guy eat. He loved his breakfast.Afterwards we went to target to pick up a few items for that night. We were going to a wedding that night and we just needed a few things. We went home and just played with Andrew. We didn't have a party this time around. Im sure we will do one next year but we opted out this year.    We took Andrew to the wedding with us, which an hour into it we realized we should have left him with my mom. The wedding was just beautiful. The wedding was one of my high school friends and she made a huge wedding. It was just gorgeous. She wanted a fairytale wedding and it was just

Staar Stressing....I mean testing

In Texas we have a standardized test called "STAAR". Today was the mathematic part to the test which is my test(I teach 4th grade math,in case you didn't know) so it was nerve wrecking.I just wanted to give you a little glimpse of my thoughts of today. The assistant principal tells me in the morning "okay, your test are ready, come pick them up." Another teacher comes up to me and informs me one of my students has thrown up due to nerves. I should have been more concerned. We only have 4 hours for the whole entire test. If you ask me it's not enough time for a 4th grader to do a test of 56 questions. One of my students was still working 10 minutes before I had to call time. When the student finally finished. We usually eat at 11:40 and we had to wait till 12:30. When I actually was able to eat. I was so tired from the day that I left early from work and pretty much left half asleep.

Some books I have read so far

In case you were wondering where I find the next book to read, wonder no more. I find my next read on instagram #yabooks. I usually scroll through pictures of what other people are reading then I go on amazon and see if it is a book I would be interested in. I usually am interested in most YA Reads. I think the only ones Im not that excited for are the fantasy ones that have to do with werewolves and other super natural beings. I think I'ver read one series on those type of book and I think it was enough. I usually read syfy, dystiopia, and romantic ya books. I cannot get into the more adult books. I wish I could, it's just not something I like to read. In about two week we got to Corpus Christi where the nearest half off book store is and I'm so looking forward for that. I'm looking forward to see my sister graduate too of course. The slammed series Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother

My Andrew

We are hitting the 1 year mark next coming weekend. We are not doing something big this time around. We are probably going take him some places. I might take him to the zoo. We are not exactly sure on what we are going to do. (Hmph, we are so on top of things.) I want to share some things about Andrew. 1. He gets upset very easy when something does not go his way. 2. He is a morning person and wakes up with a smile(most mornings) 3. He gives slobbery kisses(only momma). 4. He puts everything in his mouth 5.He is not a fan of shoes 6. He's daddies little pal 7. He waves bye. 8. He bothers his big sister when she is doing something. 9. Every morning is a shit show(literally) 10. He likes to throw things over his shoulder. Who cares where it lands. He is the master right now! This child keeps me on my toes and I could not imagine my life without this bugger.

Spring break week

On March 13th it was my birthday. I was not looking forward for it. Partly because Jaime was working and I wanted to spend the day with him. So I decided to go to work and spend the day with my students and co-workers. It turned out to be a good day. We did a little party at the end of the day and I received some gifts from the kids and my co-workers and my mom. My mom met some of my students. We have been painting non-stop to this house. We have finished painting our living room and we are now on to putting up curtains and rods. Jaime doesn't really let me do much on my own. That's what happens when your married to a perfectionist. I'm in charge of the decorating and less of putting holes in the wall. Which I understand he loves this house. We finally have new furniture and a new bedroom set. Our house is still a working progress....oh and don't get me started on the outside landscape. Reading, Reading, Reading. Lately, I have been readi
