2 months old

Clothes:Andrew no longer fits into newborns and is now wearing three month clothes. I was really scared  because I only had newborn clothes and only a handful of only 3 month clothes,so I had to buy some clothes. Thankfully that week we went to an outlets store where I was able to buy him some clothes.

He only cries when he is hungry, has a dirty diaper or he wants attention. He is a really good baby so far. Always smiling, loves kisses, I think he actually kind of likes being the center of attention. Im having some fun with this little guy, he is getting me into a routine and has made me realize I'm fine with just a few hours of sleep after all. Sometimes I want him to tell me that he loves me because I just don't know if he does. He looks like a happy baby. I hope he knows that I am his momma.

He is able to watch me with his eyes. He will follow my face if I move it. Dad tried to give him the pacifier and Andrew rejected it, which I kind of knew that was going to happen. However, daddy is still pushing the paci on him. He started drooling too, which is pretty gross. I swear I think that he is teething. I don't remember Megan drooling this much this early. People have already told us that he looks a lot bigger than what he actual is. He's only two months but he actually looks like he is 3-4 months.

He went to his first baseball game and was pretty much asleep through the whole thing. He also watched his daddy play kickball against some other firefighters. They all thought he looked liked his daddy. He kicks his legs a lot, I think he is going to be a soccer player (obviously!).

He has hicups almost all the time. The only way we clear that right up is bundling him up. I am so sure that this little baby is going to be a momma's boy. Don't even care that I will probably be that way, he's my baby.

Sleep: He loves being wrapped when he is put down in his crib, otherwise he won't sleep. He also hates when the air condition turns on, I guess because he can feel when it turns on. Car rides are a plus to get him to go to sleep. He is pretty good when it comes to night time sleep and day time sleep. He stays awake during the day and falls asleep pretty quickly in between meals in the middle of the night. He sleeps at 8pm, wakes up again at 10pm, 12am, 3am, and 5/6am. After 6 am, it is the start to our day. So every day momma has been waking up at 6 am. We go to the living room and hang out there watching the Office until the dad and sister wake up.

Meals: Meals, are still every two hours. Momma is producing a lot more milk now a days, and If I miss a feeding my boobs feel rock hard and feel like they will explode any minute. You have no problem latching and Im so proud of ourselves that we are still at this. I honestly thought I would never be a breastfeeding momma because I thought it was too hard but here were are:) & I love the time I get to have with you.

Andrew, you have officially stolen our hearts. Your sister is completely in love with you and always wants to carry you. Your dad is so happy your here he always wants to carry you and talks about all the things you all will be doing in the future. Momma can't imagine life without you, I just have to be near you, like I feel something is missing if your away. Grandma has asked for me to leave you with her from the night but I just can't. Grandma is much older and since I can barely wake up in the middle of the night myself, I don't know how she would. We love you so much little baby boy!

Not a dry eye in the theatre

This past weekend my mom and I saw The Fault in our Stars. I honestly kind of forgot the whole book but when the movie started it all just came back to me. I remember when I read the book I was bawling like a baby & at the theater It was no different. Only this time everyone in the theater was crying. Seriously,  all I heard was sniffling throughout the whole movie. It was hilarious! Anyways, if you go an watch the movie take some tissues, seriously not kidding about that, you WILL NEED THEM!

Have a good Thursday...another night of Big Brother is happening tonight, so for all you BB lovers don't forget!

Life of a mommy

My day consists of cleaning, nursing, making meals and changing diapers. Honestly, Im ready for work. I am hoping that a district will call me soon but who knows if they will. I have to call in a few days to see if all the districts have all my information. This post was just dedicated to showing you just a couple of pictures I took while I was doing laundry.

Father's day

We spent Father's day on Saturday because Jaime had to work on Sunday.  So the first thing we did on Saturday morning was make breakfast for Jaime. Well actually the first thing I did in the morning was exercise because I would like my butt back. hehe yes I liked my butt:) so my goal is to get it back. I hope it comes back. (Sorry, that was weird right?):)

After breakfast, I cleaned the house and Jaime pretty much lunged(sp?) around while I cleaned the house. I didn't mind, I kind of had to,this place was pretty dirty.  We also made a cake for him. His favorite cake is German chocolate but I don't know how to make that so this was the next best thing for him. We also gave him his gifts. We bought him a Mini Ipad, itunes card, a t-shirt, and a dog card. Guess who picked out the dog card? Miss Megan of course. He pretty much spent the whole day on his Ipad. He uses it for music. Now amazon came out with Music Prime so he is pretty much in heaven.

Megan and I saw a movie called "The haunted mansion " from Disney. Afterwards we all got ready because we were going to go to a baseball game with my dad for Father's day.

Here is a little story to go along with it. Let me just point out, before Andrew, we were always early to places, all the time. Since he was born we pretty much have late to most events. And this time was no exception. Fist off I think I told Jaime to get ready about 5 times. For whatever reason he thought he had all the time in the world. Men right? Anyways when we finally leave he says he wants something to eat, so we stop at Burger king, he is the only one that orders something. Megan and I were just going to eat snacks at the game. Then we go get some cash out to pay for the tickets. The game started at 7 and it was 6:45 already. Then for whatever reason we go to his dad's house. I was under the impression that we were going to leave his gift after the game but I was wrong. So now it is  6:55 and we are pulling up into the parking. He decides to chow down his burger. When we finally get to our seats it's 7:15. Moral of the story, listen to your wife when she tells you to get ready the first time. Oh gosh, but I love that man!

Some men were outside the game and they were selling some tickets for $30 which was cheaper than what we would have originally paid. So it came out to be pretty good. There were 6 of us and we paid only $30 for the tickets. It was a great game. The mascot took my baby for awhile, and let me just say it was the scariest thing ever. He was carrying him and they took his pictures and now Andrew is going to be on the newspaper. Awesome right? Well the mascot gave us an autographed baseball for Andrew. Pretty neat huh?!

My dad

On Sunday we visited my dad and my grandpa's grave. My dad came home with us to eat some lunch and to hang out for awhile. I told him about our blu-ray, so he decided to stay and try and fix it. For whatever reason it gave out about a month ago. The dvd player didn't work, but to some miracle it does now.Strange. Jaime wanted me to bring him his cake to the station but decided not to after all. Afterwards, I cleaned up, and made dinner for me and Megan.

The Best of Me-Nicholas Sparks

What can I say...Nicholas Sparks is very predictable. In a good way though. I would say The Best of Me is kind of like the notebook but a little more modern. I think a lot of people can relate to this book. You never forget your first love. Of course prepare for Nicholas Sparks to kill someone in his book, like he always does. When I read his book I like to play a game called "Guess which character he kills.". I sort of won. I won't give it away though. Lets just leave it as I kind of got it right, with a slight twist.

I would recommend this book if your in the mood for some suspense and some romance. Oh, and here is the
Trailer of The Best of Me. Yes, there is a movie coming out in the fall. I'm so excited!

Amazon summary:
In the spring of 1984, high school students Amanda Collier and Dawson Cole fell deeply, irrevocably in love. Though they were from opposite sides of the tracks, their love for one another seemed to defy the realities of life in the small town of Oriental, North Carolina. But as the summer of their senior year came to a close, unforeseen events would tear the young couple apart, setting them on radically divergent paths.

Now, twenty-five years later, Amanda and Dawson are summoned back to Oriental for the funeral of Tuck Hostetler, the mentor who once gave shelter to their high school romance. Neither has lived the life they imagined . . . and neither can forget the passionate first love that forever changed their lives. As Amanda and Dawson carry out the instructions Tuck left behind for them, they realize that everything they thought they knew -- about Tuck, about themselves, and about the dreams they held dear -- was not as it seemed. Forced to confront painful memories, the two former lovers will discover undeniable truths about the choices they have made. And in the course of a single, searing weekend, they will ask of the living, and the dead: Can love truly rewrite the past?

Book Review: Graveminder

Graveminder is a dark book. In this book we have zombies, love, and two worlds:The dead and the living.

Graveminder was at first hard to get into but I think because I was still recovering from the last book, has that happened to any of ya'll?,The reason that it intrigued me was because it was a fantasy book and those are also my favorite. The writing was well balanced throughout the whole book and it had a great ending. It made me want to know who was behind the whole thing. I would not say it was a young adult book, I would say it's an adult book of zombies:)

From Amazon:
Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the tender attention her grandmother, Maylene, bestowed upon the dead of Claysville. While growing up, Rebekkah watched as Maylene performed the same unusual ritual at every funeral: three sips from a small silver flask followed by the words, “Sleep well, and stay where I put you.”
Now Maylene is gone and Bek must return to the hometown—and the man—she abandoned a decade ago, only to discover that Maylene’s death was not natural . . . and there was good reason for her odd traditions. In Claysville, the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected—and beneath the town lies a shadowy, lawless land ruled by the enigmatic Charles, aka Mr. D. From this dark place the deceased will return if their graves are not properly minded. And only the Graveminder, a Barrow woman, and the current Undertaker, Byron, can set things to right once the dead begin to walk. . . .

These are our days

These days it is hard to go out and just enjoy the summer. I can't believe how hard it is with two babies. I'm trying to get out of my funk. Maybe I will venture out soon, but right now Andrew is still really small for me to go out on my own. For now I feel like I need to have another person to help me. I still have yet to go to a store on my own with both of them in tow. Don't judge, I'm just afraid of a meltdown from one of them.

Last week we took Megan and Andrew to a little picnic to the park. We had a pretty good time up until Megan had a meltdown, she freaks out with the tiniest bump to the head or her arm. I am hoping it's just a stage. She's really not up for anything lately. I don't know if it's the hot weather or something else. She just hardly ever wants to go outside to play.

We cleaned out Megan's room because holy cow does she have toys. We threw away a ton of toys and now I feel that her room is looking a lot better. While we were cleaning her room Andrew was just hanging out. He was moving so much that's why the pictures came out so blurry. This is usually how he watches us while Megan and I are doing something.

Also, Megan graduated from Pre-k, and will be entering Kindergarten. Jaime was unable to be with us this day so I had to record everything. She even sang with another girl a song from Frozen, I think it's called "For the first time." It's a cute song. She got a little upset at the girl during the song because she was singing Megan's part. People started laughing at that. I love that my baby is really coming out of her shell and is talking more and more to people. She used to be extremely shy now, she talks to people who wants to talk to her. Im so proud of her and Im so excited that she is not as shy as she used to be.

For the past week my milk supply has been low. According to What to expect the first year, it is totally normal when the monthly visit comes, the milk will be low, which I didn't know. I was actually beginning to worry about it and started to question myself as to what I had done wrong. So with a low milk supply meant that I could not pump. This baby of ours goes through quite  a lot of milk so when I leave the house and Jaime stays with him, they go through the milk like crazy. So we didn't have anything stocked during this week. So for the first time I would have to nurse in public. Yep, I have still yet to do that. On this particular day, I was ready to nurse for the first time. Jaime was invited to play some kickball against another city of firefighters. So since I had not left the house in awhile, I wanted to go with the kids. It was going to be at a park, so I could watch Megan play and see the game at the same time in public. However, when Jaime got out of work he said that the game was canceled. All three of us were already ready to go so we just went out to eat. My mom has been on vacation for two week so we invited her, well come to find out that my dad had also taken the day off. So we all had breakfast at Denny's. Throughout the whole time I was so scared that Andrew was going to cry any minute but to my surprise he didn't. So again, I have yet to nurse in public. Maybe you all can tell me about your first time nursing in public and how you felt?I think I need some encouragement.

Andrew wakes up really early and so he has now joined me on writing posts in the morning.

Megan's Recital

Megan had her first ballet recital a month ago on Monday. Her rehearsal was on Sunday, on Mother's day. We got dressed up on Mother's day and went to the auditorium. We sat down and watched the whole full dressed rehearsal. I am sure that this is what all parent's say but my child was pretty much the only one that had the routine down. She knew everything about her routine. I just loved watching her.

During the rehearsal we were told that we could not take any pictures at all. My husband heard in his own way, that he could take photos, just as long as he didn't get caught. Yes, I have that husband.  So while we were there he was just taking pictures and pictures of our baby. Some other people got caught but not him. It was bothering me that he was just taking pictures because I actually like to follow the rules. Oh, my husband.

On recital day, we got ready at 3 in the afternoon. She loved putting on makeup and getting all dolled up. I really wanted to put some eye liner on her but she refused so I worked with what I had and it turned out pretty good anyways. She looked so pretty with her red lipstick and the ton of glitter I put on her eyes and hair.

Most of our family came, the only person that didn't come was my dad but because he was feeling under the weather at the time. The show was amazing! I really liked the teenage show. They danced pretty dam good. I hope that Megan continues attending ballet. I didn't realize that the ballet company was that big, they had so many groups! She had fun and we had a great time. Andrew went with us and golly I was so scared that he was going to have a melt down. Not that he has done that yet but I was just afraid because it's a ballet show, and it's pretty quiet. She received her first roses after the show and she was really excited about that. She put them in her room in a case.

Heaven is for real

I was going to give this book a whole review, however, while I was writing this post it occurred to me I was talking about religion and I know that religion can be a sensitive subject so I'm just going to talk about the book and how I felt about it.

I had heard about this book for sometime but thought that it was another book about religion, so I really didnt pay too much attention to it.That was until I saw the trailer to the movie, as someone who as been "lost" before I really wanted to see this book. Usually, The books I read need to have a climax, for me to be interested. This book didn't really have a climax.....the whole book WAS the climax. I was so intrigued with this book, it was captivating. Through out the whole time I was reading this book, I thought about my grandpa. Who was my whole world.. We talk about him with Megan, because he was just the most amazing grandpa. I know everyone says that about their grandparents, he was just the type that was there for us.

Anyways back to the book, it was just the type of book that put you at ease about the next life. The book changed me on how I feel about the after life and what is to come. I used to doubt about how my grandpa was doing and now I know that my grandpa is happy an safe.

I highly recommend this book!

From Amazon:
A young boy emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven.
Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear.
Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "reaaally big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us.
Told by the father, but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready, there is a coming last battle.
